The BC Court of Appeals narrowly voted 2-1 to overturn an earlier Supreme Court of BC ruling and Glacier Resorts will be submitting an appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada.
Similarly, all options will be considered regarding today’s announcement by the federal government to award the Ktunaxa First Nation more than $16 million to explore the creation of a 211,045 hectare conservancy which would encompass the resort area. The resort area (encompassing 5,925 hectares) is defined as the Controlled Recreation Area in the project’s Master Development Agreement with the Province. The project’s Master Development Agreement is in force until the year 2072 and is renewable.
